Planning Analysis Manager

Position Overview

  • Leads and manages the annual and long-term P&L and Balance Sheet budgeting and forecasting processes for the company. Suggests and implements improvements to the processes where applicable.

  • Reviews actual performance versus budget to identify trends affecting annual plan. Analyzes trends to determine implications to plan and proactively communicates variances with key stakeholders and management.

  • Establishes a set of standard financial reports that standardize the way the DS&S' Teams evaluate their performance and that brings financial discipline and rigor to the teams by providing the necessary tracking tools. Shares best practices across the organization.

  • Takes a Lead role in helping DS&S Management teams across functional areas of the organization build an Annual Operating Plan that establishes appropriate product volume, revenue and contribution margin that is in line with brand product commercial strategy and operating income that achieves company financial profitability targets and meets key financial metrics of lending partner.

  • Monitors company shipments & depletions, brand mix, and margins per case. Works with Business Analytics Team to provide and share related analysis of impact on company performance with Division heads and profit center leaders.

  • Diagnoses business issues quickly and takes corrective action to minimize adverse impact.

  • Manages database systems and modeling tools used to collect and analyze volumetric and financial data related to planning and reporting company sales and financial performance.

  • Provides input into sales forecasting activities and provides recommendations for setting performance goals accordingly. Develops methods to track effectiveness of sales force activities.

  • Works closely with Sales & Marketing to identify market opportunities and make recommendations to the CFO on resource allocation to capitalize on these opportunities.

  • Works hand-in-hand with the Production & Winemaking teams to review performance against plan and identify cost savings.

  • Conducts various ad hoc analyses and spearhead special projects as assigned.

  • Energetic self-starter manager who has demonstrated an ability to effectively communicate, work with and lead others.

  • Works cooperatively as a member of a team (functionally, cross-functionally, across DS&S etc.) and is committed to the overall team objectives.

  • Actively learns from own failures and successes and those of others.

  • Is honest in opinions and takes responsibility for his/her actions.

  • Acts to the values of DS&S.

  • Leads change through experimentation and learning.

Education/Experience/Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting preferable

  • Minimum 3 years of P&L and Balance Sheet financial planning and analysis experience.

  • Alcohol Beverage Industry Experience Preferred.

  • Ability to extract, manipulate and analyze large volumes of data. Ability to mine data for key insights.

  • Strong analytical and computer skills a must (Excel, Access, Power Point).

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Senior Accountant

Position Overview

  • Process, review and analyze daily, weekly and monthly general ledger activity.
  • Review monthly P&L for accuracy, prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and process journal entries for reclassifications where necessary.

  • Calculate and post promo/price support accrual

  • Case rate analysis

  • Review and troubleshoot inventory management and COGS issues

  • Ensure the proper accounting of all fixed assets maintaining the book and tax depreciation books in BNA.

  • Complete monthly allocation to WIP/CIP to fixed assets

  • Prepare and review fixed asset general ledger account reconciliations to subsidiary ledgers

  • Prepare financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, and Cash Flow)

  • Assist with financial statement, bank, and governmental audits

  • Reconcile bank, cash and credit card accounts

  • Daily cash management:

  • Process ACHs and wire transfers

  • Update/reconcile Cash Sheet

  • Cash Needs

  • Maintain all bookkeeping for subsidiary-company (A/P, A/R, posting journal entries)

  • Record inter-company entries.

  • MONTH END CLOSE. Assure timely and accurate month end close of the General Ledger. Balance Cash, AR, AP, Payroll, COGS and other subsidiaries as required.

  • Performs special assignments, projects, and other duties as required.

  • Demonstrates an ability to manage time and priorities and multiple relationships and projects.

  • Makes sound decisions even under pressure.

Education/Experience/Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting; three to five years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Three to five years experience in increasingly responsible positions where a thorough knowledge of A/R, A/P, and GL would have been obtained.

  • Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Microsoft Windows operating system. Advanced Excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables, macros). Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV a plus.

  • Accounting or ERP systems Power User a plus
