2006 California Merlot
This Merlot is a dark garnet color, with aromas of vanilla, boysenberry pie, and notes of toasted hazelnuts. Flavors of sweet blueberries, plums, black olives, and subtle foregano finish with notes of rich toasted oak.
A balanced mouth-filling Merlot, this wine pairs well with arugula, tomato pizza drizzled with extra virgin olive oil and parmigiano reggiano cheese, a ground lamb burger with feta cheese and an olive tapenade, or a large bowl of pappardelle pasta smothered in bolognaise.
From the porch of our home on the second story of the Leese-Fitch Adobe, we look across towards Sonoma’s City Hall. Dedicated in 1908, this historical landmark in the Sonoma Plaza still stands as the centerpiece of our town.
